Ephemeral imprint of nature
In the search of finding a media to inhabit the fire, the textile bore many of the qualities I was looking for in the fire; its ephemerality, impermanence, dependency of several components – even the movement of the fabric also expressed a feeling somewhat similar to what I wanted to find: the idea of a textile carried by the wind had been in my mind since our planned trip to Lista. The color red was not chosen to obviously give a fire association, but instead put the textile in a juxtapositional visuality to the surrounding nature scape. I found that Burzum’s Hermoðr Á Helferð (slowed and pitched down 6x) had a similarity of aura to complement the video.
The red fabric living in the forest; (the act of) making it live – giving it some kind of character, trait, maybe even soul.
