Collaboration in gypsum and hands
The same ‘ephemeral imprint of nature’ is brought into a different scenery where it changes character. Together with Cecilia Monteverde Haakonsen, I decided to use her focus on symbiosis and inhabit my fire with her symbiotic gypsum objects, hang the textile in a formation and let the heavy objects inhabit the textile. The parasitic energy of the gypsum sculptures steals from the fabric, enough to almost take all life and transform it into a tired, simple piece of textile; while the gypsum thrive in different positions, clinging to the vibrant color.
Bringing our hands together; feeling the liquid form turn into firmness and heat.
Textile, gypsum, white balloon.
